Shut downs by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
A few weeks ago the following message appeared on my screen when I started up: Shut down initiated by the NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM DCOM Server Process Launcher service terminated unexpectedly.
So the computer shuts down. This will happen several times before the computer finally runs "normally". When ever I try to connect for a Norton update the machine denies me access to the internet or "no new down loads".
I spoke with the tech people at school and they say I have a nasty virus or I have a damaged drive.
I must say that when the machine denies my access to the internet the color of the tool bar changes from blue to egg-shell. Most of the time I can use the word-processing programs and play games.
Help! I'm not that computer savvy.

Hi there, Welcome.

To better assist you in figuring out what is exactly wrong with your computer im going to ask you to obtain a HijackThis log and post it here so that we can better determine the kind of malware your computer has been infected by (yes, you probably have a virus).

For instructions on doing that: go here.
