Can't get gmail in outlook
Operating system is Windows XP Home Edition.
My ISP is Verizon; I have recently replaced the hard drive and set up the email accounts as before. When I try to access my g-mail account I get the following error message:' Error (ox 80042108) can't connect to incoming POP3 email server"

I've re-entered the proper information several times, but it still sends the same error message. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is Outlook and I have disabled the firewall to test this option; I have also disabled my virus protection, but I still receive the same error message.
BTW, I also have Windows Live Mail and G-mail comes in most of the time. I just happen to prefer Outlook.
Thank you.

Thanks for the excellent suggestions, but unfortunately none of the worked. I did eventually find a fix for the problem though; I went to the G-mail web site, opened my mail account, went to settings and enabled POP mail. I then went back to the Windows Live Mail and set up the G-mail account and it worked. I hope this helps someone else in the future.

Sorry, I misled you in my previous reply; I meant to say that I opened my Outlook mail and entered the G-mail account information.

Thanks again,
M
