AVG 8.0 taking forever to scan
I updated this weekend to AVG 8.0 (free) from AVG 7.5 (free) and although it says that it's supposed to be quicker 7.5 took about 1 hour 45 minutes and this is taking a minimum of 3 hours!
Is this right and is there some way to change what or how it scans and not risk it missing something?

Thanks!

Click on Tools . . Advanced and look thru the scanning options for any files you do not want it to scan

Have you done a defrag lately?

I defrag pretty regularly but I'll do one today and see if that does anything. What is ok to tell it not to scan?

I scan and update every day since I had a bad Trojan Horse that affected my start-up last year. I worry a lot LOL.
