Screename/Log In question
I hope I'm in the right forum but I didn't know where else to go with this question.

If you have an account with a website, and have a user id and password, ie: Amazon, Ebay, (mostly those kinds of accounts) how do they know if you make another screename and password? They actually "link" your information so that when you go to one account or the other, everything is in both.

My husband and my daughter have accounts- and so do I but they can't be seperate. We all have different user id's and passwords but somehow they link all of our stuff together.
Do they do this with your IP address?

Just wondering.. it's annoying. Any replies would be appreciated!

Thanks, Judy

Most site uses the email address at their primary key. I have not heard that they bundle you together based on your ip address, since most people have a router with several PCs behind one address.
