Antivirus Trigger Alert
So I started getting these pop-ups all over the place about possible infection... I ran a full system Norton scan and it located the virus and I removed it. However, I'm still having two problems:

1) With IE (as opposed to Firefox), it continues to change my homepage to 'blank' regardless of how many times I switch it back.

2) Next to my time on the lower/right there is a blinking icon I cannot get rid of that is for the virus.

Any ideas on how to eliminate both of those. I'm a complete computer novice.

Thanks

Follow these steps:

1. Download HIJACKTHIS

2. Save the program in a folder on your desktop, execute and "Run a scan and save a logfile". ( DO NOT FIX ANYTHING! )

3. When done, copy and paste the log in the "malware and hijackthis-log forum" here on TGS, and an expert on the field will help you, step by step, to get rid of that nasty malware!

Oh, and good luck!
