Solved: Help with getting rid of virus with no internet
Hello! I have a serious problem with my computer. A virus has penetrated my computer and now my CPU is running very slowly, and I cannot access my internet or my network connections file. I have Avast! antivirus on, but when it scans, it freezes when it reaches compaq connections(my computer is a compaq). Any help with the situation?

Download this and burn to cd ( it downloads an iso file which you then need a program to burn it to bootable cd and it has antivirus and antispyware programs on...it boots to a Linux windows so choose to set up networking and it can go on internet then assuming an ethernet connection is in place....

to burn to cd:

Just to update, i got my comp up in safe mode and ran Avast! which detected an adware called Win32 adware-gen(Adw), which i deleted. I'm just wonderign, is that enough? because im pretty sure one adware does not cause all the problems i experienced above. Also, internet works in Safe mode.

The avast! stops at a file called capture and doesnt scan anymore. Also, things i download while in safe mode disappear in normal startup.

Help with virus that disables internet
I've been having a problem in which my computer becomes very slow, has 100% CPU usage, and cannot access many files such as network connections. I ran it in safe mode and everything worsk fine, but some things I download in safe mode(hijack this, etc...) cannot be seen in normal mode. The virsu also disabled my computer connection.

This is my HijackThis Log.
Also can you tell me what to delete if you identify something wrong, i am unfamiliar with hijack this.

Everything is alright now! I got my computer working. It was a trojan called Win32:Patched-HP that caused the problems. It was renamed pig and deleted.
