Hi try.
http://www.superantispyware.com
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

I have used Spyware Terminator in the past and I thought it to be very good.
But I now use the two listed above.

yes threat fire is great too. i use comodo internet security, avast free. comdo is has firewall/antivirus/anti spyware/antimalware/HIPS. avast is antivirus and antispyware and antimalware. avast is better than mcafee even though its free, it has memory scans and boottime scans wich wll save you system.

and yes spyware terminator is great, HIPS & on access scans. malware bytes is a must. get it and scan now!

2 Anti-viruses?
Antyskyline, if you are using CIS's anti-virus with the other at the same time, you will be having conflicts. By all means, turn one or the other off. Anti-spyware is a different story. You can have more than one at a time. I would reccomend that. They can't cover everything. Some are specialists, going after specific types of malware, and others are general practicioners.

I used Spyware Terminator and it seemed really good for a while but it eventually drove me crazy. Popups all the time regardless of what you train it to do and finally I decided it didn't have half the ability of Malwarebytes or Superantispyware.

hrlow2, they actually work very nice together, and if u check the threat fire web site it states that certain antivirus apps can work better when with others.
Rich-M i dont use spyware terminaoter anymore, i used to but it seemed like it only foun some thing the first time and now nothing. try advanced system protector for sys tweaks. the free version has no real time, but it is very good.

Yes. 2 Anti-virus programs can work together if one is on demand and the other is watching for anything that tries to get in in real time. Two of the same types at the same time is not recommended. My ThreatFire watches in real time,AntiVir catchs anything that MIGHT get by on demand.

That just is not a good idea unless you have a ton of ram because even if you don't have it running in the background an antivirus program will still patrol somewhat as long as it is installed. Now if you are talking about a program that only scans like the free version of Bit defender, that is different.

I don't care if you use 15 spyware programs, that won't create any issues but 2 antivirus programs definitely will drag down your system.
