First post....Update manager question...
Hi everyone, and thanks in advance for any help. I am fairly certain I have a stupid question, so maybe someone will have an easy answer! About once a day, or once every couple days I get an error message stating "spbbc update manager has stopped working and has been closed".

I have searched, but all I can find is "spbbc" listed in hijack files.

From what I can gather, this is related to symantec endpoint protection, which was on the computer when I bought it.

If anyone can tell me what to do about this I would be stoked.

Sorry if I have posted in the wrong area, I dont know enough about my problem to be more specific.

Thank you
Rich

Try reinstalling the Symantec program.

Thanks, i'll try that. Is this possible without a symantec disc? It was already installed on the computer when I bought it.

If you do have Symantec Endpoint Protection, I found a trial version on their site here:

Won't that run out? I would hate to get rid of a program that is a full version only to replace it with a temporary version. Also, I have still been searching through google and other forums for more instances of this problem, but cant find anything related at all.

Am I looking in the wrong places? I even called symantec, and those folks wanted info that I don't have (because it was already on my laptop, I didn't buy the software) so they wouldn't help me. Couldn't find anything about it through symantec support either.

Thanks, Rich

Did you buy the computer new or is it used? Usually security programs that comes with a new computer have a time limit.
