i have free norton which is about to run out..so could you please tell me what free security to use .. i know I have to use more than 1..like spyware adware, also do I need to get rid of norton first cheers

Yes, you really should get rid of Norton first even though it will expire. You will surprised at how much space it takes up. If you don't already have it download this http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/. It has many uses. Go to the tools section and you can uninstall Norton there. There are other ways to uninstall Norton but by downloading this little jewel you'll get a lot of other benefits. DO NOT use the
Registry Repair section unless you really really really know what you're doing.
As fas as a free Antivirus is concerned check the third sticky in this Forum.

i have always used nortons tool to remove all the files ,listed below. i myself use avg 8.0 free with comodo free firewall.

actually avg isnt as good as avast, it takes care of more types of malware and stuff like that and have better on access sheilds and better updates for the virus database, avira antiv is second best and avg the 3rd. its not as good as it was a year ago. get comodo CIS with avast for scanning and sheilds and get avira for only on demand disable the on access, and use comodo CIS for only firewall. disable the on access part of the antivirus and use for on demand
