Question Solved: Looking for a free spyware program
Other then Spybot, that is free. I have used Spybot for years and like it but I want to try something else.

Windows Defender. But only if your OS is Windows
Just google top 5 anti spyware & take your pick.
I've tried most of the top 5 & now I don't use any of them.I am currently using a free anti virus ,for 1 year, from
http://www.eeye.com/html/products/blink/index.html
The award winning program, very small footprint.I only use this one now.
I use no other anti spyware,it's built into the anti virus program.
I used to run 3 anti spywres & 1 anti virus, now I just use the one.
Works great & I will definitely be buying it when the trial period runs out, next year .Has a great firewall also.

SuperAntispyware, Spyware Doctor Starter Edition, MalwareBytes Antimalware, Spyware Terminator, Ad-aware ... all these are good antispywares. The first three are very good and recommended.

Another vote for Superantispyware and Malwarebytes...Spybiot is olf technology and has little value anymore and Windows Defender, does nothing at all IMHO!

I have been conducting a survey on the Most Popular Anti-spyware on my website, in which 528 people have participated till now. (See the results in the sidebar here on this link).

The number one choice is Spybot - Search & Destroy, being it a free Software. And the number One choice for the paid Antispyware was Spyware Doctor.

I agree about Spyware Doctor. I have the starter edition... and i have read that it uses a smaller signature than the paid counterpart, but it still finds spywares, that the other good antispywares miss. I have been using Spyware Doctor for a long time, and its this antispyware, that i always keep on my system.

I recently used Malwarebytes Antimalware, and i was pretty impressed. It also detects and removes spywares better than other antispywares.

The top of the ladder is still Superantispyware. I just had an instance today where Sas found a rootkit none of the others found (rootkit.tdss) and while it would remove it it came right back so I assumed it was a false positive. Contact with Sas Tech support which is fast and user friendly informed me it is a rootkit none of the others find and they gave me a special new tool to remove it. So play with the others but honestly there is no comparison yet.

get windows defender, solid spyware defender with great real time. i dont recommend third party too much because they have many more false posotives. microsoft doesnt create false posotives because it will give a bad rep to them. every genuine microsoft product is good to use.

Even though I never ever find anything on my PC when I run A/V or A/S scans (clean living?), I do have SuperAntiSpyWare (among others) installed currently.
