Erratic Keyboard
A friend is having trouble with his laptop running XP with a wireless broadband connection. When he types on the keyboard random letters/numbers/symbols appear. He has AVG 8.0, Windows Defender and Adaware running. He uses Windows firewall and has seen this come up with 'firewall turned off' when loading although he is not aware of having done anything that may have affected this setting. He has reverted to a previous system restore point and the keyboard works correctly for a while but then reverts to the same behaviour.
No viruses have been found, he also ran WindowsOne Live Care and nothing showed up.
Any help would be welcome as I have run out of ideas.
Also, as he lives some distance away from me I need to use Remote Assistance to help him. Would using Remote Assistance be likely to have any impacton my system if he does have a virus?

I think Live One Care has its own firewall, so thats why the Windows XP firewall is turned off.

Doing Remote Assistance will not have any imapct on your system, viruses cannot be spread over a remote assistance session.
