No access to System Restore
I hope someone can help.

I have just downloaded an update to my Zonealarm firewall but some how have ended up with the 15 day trial of the Zonelarm Security Suite.

I have tried to use system restore but despite trying several dates I am getting messages stating that it is not possible to restore my PC to that date.

I am concerned that I may have altered some registry settings.

I would be grateful for any help as I am concerned that my PC may not be secure.

Thanks

Do you originally have the free version Zonealarm ? Just uninstall the 15 day one and reinstall the free one if thats the problem.

This really screwed up my PC - not sure what was the cause but Zonealarm had to be manually removed - could not uninstall as for some reason I could not get access to it to do so.

Would not use Zonealarm again.

Any suggestions for the best firewall?

You need if you got any paid version to copy the licence key code, email address etc so you have all the very same info. You can then go in and change the key code and it should get you back to where you was if you use the same version or know that you paid.

Well Online Armor is good and I used the paid version but the free one is rated right up top there with the the paid.

Your welcome.

I know it works too because when my year was up I never paid so keep using the last 4.x version and used it for years so installed ZA Pro on other drives. But you get that demo etc thing going on and even getting the version same version I had from downloading it from there site it was not showing up right.
First I used the code etc that came with the box version I had but once you put that code in it goes out to ZA and gives you the other key code so it sees it as a all new account.
I had a drive I could swap out so put the older one back and copy all that info and then changed it so it was all the same.
After that it knew all about me and when my year ran out and changed to version to the very same one I had etc.
