Question AVG 8.0 something bad happened?!
My computer : Dell Inspiron 1501 2GB ram 70GB hard drive 3GB virtual memory AMD processor Windows Vista Home Premium
I used to have AVG 8.0 before and it ran great. I recently uninstalled it to try out Norton 09. I didnt like it so I went to reinstall AVG 8.0. Everytime I go to install AVG, it says something bad happened. And actually, even before that, it says attention, AVG 7.5 installed. I have never ha AVG 7.5 on this computer. I tried deleting every single avg file I can possibly find in the registry, program files, everywhere. I scheduled a c drive scan. Ran CCleaner. I can install other virus programs just fine. They dont say there is another virus program installed. So I am stuck. Please help, I can only work with AVG. Norton is no good, avira doesnt have right click quick scan and I really dont care to go through every antivirus. Thank you.

Norton has been known to leave some traces in the registry after uninstall. Norton offers a tool on their website designed to get those traces out. I used it on Norton 2007.
