Post Security Problem
Hello Guys, I have some question to post.
These days when am online suddenly my internet disconnect and could not browse anything but on window task manager on the Networking tab it shows that am downloading file which percentage at 8%. Even though my internet is down. Could it be any explanation for this.
And secondly when ever i browse different sites it shows byte sent increase
even though am not uploading anything. Could it be there is highly dangerous tracking cookie spying which site i have visited and send the information to third party person? My operating system is Windows Xp sp.3
Thank You

When you browse a site, you actually do send out something, and that is the get web page requrest.

A cookie is a small text file sent to you by web sites to keep track of what you have done on their site. There are 'tracking cookies' sent out by advertising banner sites, and those could track you across sites, if the all the sites you visit host the same banner ads from the same company. At most, those ad companies then would know which sites you visited. If you are concerned, you can go to Tools > Internet Options > Privacy tab and set the slider to "Block all cookies". But some sites will not function without cookies.
