Banned servers or Hard drives
Hi can a web site ban a users server or a users pc hard so that they can t use that site anymore because of alleged site violations? How legal is that, is that hacking by a site and not legal and is there any way of catching that before it happens and turn that hack back or after the fact and fix it ?

You can ban a user name, i got that but that user may be able to get a new name and not blow his cover the 2nd time around and ISP s change everytime one logs on to their provider.

And one more thing if one used a Reg monitor couldn t one change back those hack changes to ones hard drive ? - thanks . .

Maybe this user should just follow the rules imposed by the operators of whatever server you are talking about.

It's perfectly legal to be banned from a site for all sorts of reasons like rule violations. Sites use IP addresses mostly. It's not a hack.

But, as JohnWill mentionned, follow the rules!

karbo,

I see that you have several infractions noted in your account. I would think for the length of time you've been here you would know better. I trust you will adhere to the rules from this point forward as there will be no more warnings or chances. You might want to read the rules to make sure you don't cross the line again.

As you might have noticed, I've corrected the message.

Sorry for slipping towards the dark side... I thought about it too late. It won't happen again.

It seems to be an infraction on this site but it's nothing illegal I can assure you.

But, I understand their point of view...
