[GenericBox]

Hi, I am fairly experienced with computers, but for a while now (probably 6 months or more) these files have perplexed me.

Windows XP Service Pack 3 (as of today)

My Computer > Local Disk (C and these files are always there.

They are always changing variations in name and are of no file extension. They are 0 or 1 kb's in size.

It seems to me, the longer I don't keep cleaning them up, the more files are there.

The most worrying thing is that although 1-5 (depending on how many overall files are there) will be deleted (SHIFT+DEL), 3-6 will not be, and I receive the ol'

Close any programs that might be using the file and try again.

I HAVE TRIED DELETING THEM IN SAFE MODE. IT STILL GIVES SAME ERROR.

These files are not NOTICEABLY affecting the performance of my computer, but they are just a worry.

Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT / NOTE: As of immediately now, tfc tfc tfg tfg files delete when selected singularly. t148 still throws the same error.

Can you change the permissions ? If ont use http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/s.../bb896653.aspx to find out which process has the files open, it may shed some light on your problem.

Awesome that helped alot. Nice application. So I've found the program creating the current variation files in there, it is my mysql-nt.exe

Does anyone out there know if this is a natural thing for this app to do or may it be corrupted?
