need help removing win32.netsky.q Worm and the fallout
referring to http://forums.techguy.org/malware-re...m-fallout.html

i also have jsut acquired this type of virus, going on from what this d00d above hasposted i reckon the win32.netsky.q could be a spoofed name and i have never heard of windows firewall being a malware detector, i reckon thats part of the virus itself.
i have run my hijackthis log throiugh the hijack.de site and it has found nothing of interest, i have looked through it thorougly and found nothing wrong also.
i also have the gmail folder appearing and delete it, the internet explorer browser starts working again for a while then the folder and contents return and browser stops.
firefox displays a message in the browser "Insecure Internet Activity. Threat of virus attack"
when i run the netsky removal tool it gives me "a viral hook has been found in memory and removed" then the removal tool crashes but the hook remains.
i am stuck on this one, anyone help??

Hi and welcome to TSG,

Unfortunately, you've posted in the wrong forum as malware issues go in the Malware Removal & HijackThis Logs forum where only qualified helpers are authorized to assist.

So I'm going to have to close this and ask you to repost your issue in that forum for the proper assistance.
