Before I settled for ESET Smart Security, I tried the Kaspersky antivirus with firewall free trial.

I uninstalled it because I didn't like the millions of pop-ups generated by the firewall. I had no idea, most of the time, what to answer. The antivirus scan time took longer than NOD32, almost double. It also backed up many files in system32 by doubling them or more and they stayed like that after I uninstalled the program.

I find KIS 2009 firewall very effective due to it's HIPS feature. I am not using it at the moment, however when I was using it I enjoyed it.

You might want to set it up for maximum protection though. Take a look here if you do; http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php...dpost&p=661049.

This may give you a few more popups etc. But the extra protection is worth it.

I must say I swapped KIS firewall for Online Armor due to the support being much better, and the overall experience and protection of the firewall.

@Karbo: I agree that the majority of users will not be able to understand the popups, which is sad because it is so useful
