new virus stay aware
Listen you guys there is this realy strange virus out there thatshuts down everything from this site, like combofix, superantispyware, bitdefender and malawarebytes, the only thing it didn't effect was hijack this buttt it does shut down your browser so u can't reupload these progarams and also it won't allow you to log on to Techguys or bleeping computer ect......to fix your computer, its realy tricky and is a very clever virus.........by the time you hijack this and wait for someone to reply to your log, the virus would have probably ate all your data, it moves fast.............so be careful... i had an old Trojan remover in my archive that wasn't effected by the virus so i got lucky in fixing it without reformating my pc...i pray u guys don't run into it..............itz nasty

I thought it was standard procedure for viruses/trojans to attempt to prevent security software from being installed or used?

Whatever, the program may be Trojan Remover which, as its name suggests, is not a 'real time' scanner but works after the infection has struck; http://www.simplysup.com/tremover/details.html

It works in the same way as a lot of malware in that it generates random names for its processes so that malware can't look for and delete, or block, the process. It drives the Comodo firewall nuts if I open TR because of that behaviour so I have to diasble Defense+ before I try and run TR. I have no idea how good it is because I have never had to use it in anger but I keep it updated, just in case!

Many viruses seek to disable the various security programs we have on our computers, block sites using the hosts file and set policies but particularly some of the newer rootkits that practically cripple the computer.

I'd like to know why you decided to post this but never followed up with the assistance that was offered to you?
