System Being hacked over internet?
Hi Friends,

I thought someone may be hacking into our wireless home computer but we had FIOS put in and had passwords modified ... With that said it still seems like there's a delay in loading the pages.

We have checked to make sure the system is virus free as we use a combination of F-Secure, Superantispyware, web root's Spy Sweeper and Norton Antivirus on all the cvomputers.

Is there a way to see if someone is accessing our compters surreptitiously (software program etc.) ? I buy things regularly on the internet and wonder if that has made us vulnerable.

Thanks for your help!

A delay in accessing web pages does not indicate a hack. But a general slow down in a computer may indicate presence of spyware.

Since you mentioned that you are using wireless, have you turned on WPA2 wireless encryption? That would foil eavesdropping or just other people using your internet line.

F-secure and NOrtON?

Not a good idea to have two anti-virus programs.

Use this malware scanner, free and very good. MBAM v1.31

http://majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_A...are_d5756.html

Download install, update, quick scan.

This is a manual scanner, it will not run unless you tell it to, it will not interfere with other security software, it will not update automatically unless you get the paid version, otherwise do it manually after launching the program.
