Run As...
when i made a new account in limited (so it'd be more secure to use that over an admin account)
i renamed my admin account "Maintenance" and started using User. it works perfectly fine, however when i want to Run As Administrator... the only user that comes up is Administrator.
i retyped it into Maintenance and entered the password, no go... i also tried using Administrator with my Maintenance password... then tried no password, nothing. What can i do about that?

Can you log in as Maintenance on the main welcome screen ?

How did you change the account name?

yes. i can access maintenance through the welcome screen. there are only 2 users on the welcome screen. maintenance (admin) and zack (limited) i use admin account to make system changes while i use the limited account for regular use. to limit the effect of trojans, if i ever get infected. when i run as in my limited account the only thing that shows up is Administrator and not the other account... i enter the information for Maintenance and it won't let me enter it. i can enter the account itself through the welcome screen but i don't want to log off everytime i want to make a system change. i renamed the only account on the computer at the time to maintenance and then made another account to use in the future.

Did you change the account name using Control Panel > User accounts? If so, it should show up.
