Iexplore.exe
Hi guys,

I normally use Firefox but yesterday I had to go on a Korean site, whom Firefox can t run, consequently i used Internet Explorer but unfortunatly there was a virus in Iexplore.exe so I deleted it via AVG .
I ve been trying since to reinstall Internet explorer but it won t work i am getting the following message

"windows canno t find C:/Program files/Internet Explorer/Iexplore.exe. Make sure you type the name correctly, and then try again "

Would anyone know how to fix this issue.

Thanks in advance for any tips .

There are probably other ways but if it comes to it, a reinstall of Windows should do the trick.

Would you please post back with the solution as it could be helpful to others? I know of some but am curious how you went about it.

Probably discovered an overinstall will do nothing and you have to boot to cd folks and that way partition and format the drive to reinstall properly because a clean install has to fix this.

There may be a clean copy in the dllcache or Service Pack files which can be copied to the proper location. Some tools will search for a clean copy and if one is found, replace the infected one or it can be done manually.

Hi guys

I first cleaned my entire system of any trojans spy or whatever then I killed the following line.

Registry::
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\image file execution options\iexplore.exe]
