System Guards turned off in McAfee
Every time I turn System Guards on in McAfee, and go back to the home menu, it automatically turns it back off. I'm using Security Center 8.1. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Thanks, Jason

Thanks for the reply.

Reinstalling the entire McAfee?
Do you know what could be causing it not to remain enabled?

Also please note that it is only System Guards that keeps disabling itself.

The virus protection, script scanning, spyware protection and other protections are fine.

no, dont do that, its a pain in the rear to uninstall and reinstall. just update it and go into the settings. i found that mcafee has a lot of problems like that. that is why, come febuary i am getting rid of mcafee and using avast home, comodo internet security and malwarebytes anti-malware. paid stuff are bloatware and the same as free. they slow down the pc and jip you of your pc's full potential.

but updating should help

The update check says 12/31/2008. Does that mean that there is no update available.

It stayed enabled for a couple days ago and after a restart yesterday, it's back disabling itself.
Do you know what to do?

this is why i hate mcafee and getting rid of it next month. it has too many errors and issues. try avast home, and comodo firewall, together they are better than mcafee and free

A malware infection could explain the problem as well.

Although it's a worse situation, I have to agree with Double Helix.
I wasn't having this problem until last month, but yet I've had McAfee on this PC for much longer, probably at least a couple years.

jason, its not an infection. try it. download malwarebytes anti malware and it probalby will find stuff but it wont have anything to do with mcafee. http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
it is common for mcafee to have these problems. tons of people have this same problem.
