I agree here that it is not fraud, but so you know the company Computer Associates was a giant on the scene at one time in software development. Personally I remember when their Innoculateit was "king of the hill" but when ETrust came along, it was "third rate" IMHO" and amongst the poorest antivirus programs out there. CA was initially good program developed in Australia using a different antivirus engine built for some reason when it came here it was "doggier" than ETrust.
That all said there has to be something wrong in your setup or options calling for downloading updates. Either it somehow reset to dialup when you are on Broadband or vice versa and the company must have tech support. Why not try their site and look for "contact us" and see what they have to say.
Personally though I would never recommend it as I recommend Avira for free and Nod32 for paid and always
www.superantispyware.com for virus. You might also want to download and run Supertantispyware update and scan as it is more than possible some malware has interfered with the updating procedure and it may not be a Ca problem at all.
