Keep paying or go free?
Hi everybody. I am currently running a Dell PC with Windows 2000. I use the Opera browser and keep it all clean and running good with Kaspersky and Super Antispyware. I have virtualy no problems with this set up. It runs good, stays clean and virus free. My problem is that it is time to renew the Kaspersky for another year at $56. And right now money is kinda tight. I can do the $56 if I need to but would prefer not to have to. I know there are a ton of free software out there that would do pretty much the same thing. So I am thinking about going that route. But I am not sure which ones are the best ones to get. Or if there any real good programs that are still free. So my question to you is: Should I keep paying for Kaspersky or get a free program? And if I get a free one, which one should I get?

IMHO, if Kaspersky, a well reputable antivirus program has kept your system clean and protected for the past year, I wouldn't change a thing. Only you can decide if you can afford to continue paying for it.

Personaly, I don't think there is any free antivirus program that will come close to Kaspersky.

Well, thats kinda what I was thinking too. The old "if it aint broke, dont fix it" theory.

Have you checked Amazon or ebay for the antivirus program you mentioned. I just looked and you can get it cheaper there.

Just another option. Hope this helps.
