Question Firewall
I'm having problems disabling a firewall that i didn't know I had. I'm trying to access a website that says it can't get past me firewall. I have uninstalled AVG since it was expired anyway. How do I find the firewall?

Thank you

Hello Socabch. Firstly, turning off the Firewall is not recommended, especially when you are without an Antivirus. Please download and install Avira AntiVir if you are keen to protect yourself. Secondly, if you don't have any additional security programs, then it is probably the Windows Firewall that is blocking you from accessing the site. Please use the instructions from here to disable the Firewall in Windows XP. Here are the instructions if you use Vista.

Hope that helps.

Hmm, when your PC software won't let you access a website, the site could be poised to download code that might be harmful.

Either AVG is still running, or it's your browser? I didn't think the built-in Windows firewall, unless it's Vista, would block website access.

I'm running Windows Xp and service pack 3. It tells me that I don't have the firewall running. The program I'm trying to access used to run and I use it about twice a month. This past month is when it's telling me I have a firewall stopping it from connecting. I plan on reinstalling a virus protection program. I only uninstalled AVG because it said my free service expired.
