Question Registry edit
I just successfully removed Sonic BackUp MyPC ("bump") from my PC this morning. All that seems to be left is a super-brief popup from the program. I think it is a vestigial registry entry from "bump". My question is, can I safely reove this entry from my registry? there are two of these. I will post the first one (converted to text) here:

It's not a good idea to remove things from the registry root. And the registry can't make "popups", so it has to be some program running. What kind of popups?

There is probably just a checked item in startup. Go "Run, msconfig,ok,startup" uncheck hit apply and ok.

I tried the msconfig option a while back. This issue is definitely in the registry,

The registry is a passive database, like a telephone book. It doesn't "do" anything. Only executable files "do" anything on a computer. If you are getting a popup, it is caused by a file. It is definitely not in the registry.
