Firefox is connected but IE8, MSN Messenger, iTunes can't connect to the internet
Hi Guys!!

This is my first post but here it goes:

Since i got my laptop everything was working fine but for the past couple of days Internet Explorer 8, msn messenger, and iTunes can't connect to the internet but firefox can still browse the web. I googled my problem and followed some suggestions I cleared out "socks", DNS etc but still no connection. I made changes to norton but still no connections. I shut down norton blocked the firewall but no connection.

Would be very GREATFUL if someone can help me its becoming really fustrating now =(

Below are the details of my laptop I don't know if it will help lol.
Advent 5411 Laptop
Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5750 @ 2.00GHz
4.00GB RAM
32-Bit Operating System
Norton 360

PS I have read from other posts that people are posting "hijackthis" logs to solve their problems. I have no experience with hijack this but will it help me??

Please can someone help me!!!!???????????????????????

I saw that problem before. i don't know exactly the problem. it just all of a sudden fixed itself. and hijak this is for malware. don't worry you don't have malware. this is software related. it could be the wireless. try the guest account

you can try a system resotr to before the problem. or try re installing msn and i tunes. and actually you do know that ie8 is in beta. that means it is not suitable for use like you want it for. install ie 7. you should be good after that

don't use beta programs unless you are using them on a testing partiion or virtual environment
