Data Execution Prevention
I am in school at Ivy Tech. I do some of my classes online. We have a web page and then a campus connect page that we go to for online classes. As I go to my classes. I am allowed to do everything else but to reply to discusion board posting. My computer states that Data Execution Prevention as stopped the program. I have called microsoft, I have called acer, and I have called the school and none of them can help me. Now I have gotten to the advanced performance options page to put in anything that you want to disable DEP for. But I can not get the web address in there correctly. I have put in Ivy Tech. I have copied and paste the actual page, I still can not post replies. Please help me with this.
Thank you

Are you using IE to access the discussion forum? There is another DEP setting in IE7. Go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Scroll down to Security > Enable Memory Protection .. Uncheck that. On Vista, you have to right click IE and Run as Administrator in order to change it, otherwise that option is greyed out.

It will not let me uncheck it. It is grayed out also. I tried to right click, left click. I keep trying. Thank you so much for helping me. I am really at my wits end with this.
Thank you,
Lishelle

How great are you. I just figured out how to get around to IE. It wasn't letting me. I had to drop it from main menu. Right click and I got to post. Thank you. You just saved my academic career. Now do I do this everytime. I do not mind but will have to right it all down.
Thank you so much,
Many Blessings
