Dear Netminderone,
Do as Karbo says. THIS is one of the reasons why i shifted bag and baggage from my default Vista to a safer ground like XP Pro! Windows explorer freezes with that crazy blue circle spinning, i used to nearly puke! Do you know that 2 days back Microsoft gave the pink slips to 5000 employees, becauseTHE PROFITS WERE DROPPING!GOD! I sincerely hope that the guy/Girl/lady who implemented the "Cursed Blue Orb" is one among them! Just Kidding! Hate to see people lose jobs like that!

Would be better to run both. One sometimes finds something that the other doesn't look for.
May also want to consider adding SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard to your real-time arsenal.

Do you mean SpywareBlaster AND SpywareGuard? Easy. And I also have SuperAntiSpyware, MalwareBytes and WinPatrol. That is my antispyware choices.
Unlike antivirus programs, which can have only one installed at a time, many people recommend more than one antispyware program. Some, like SpywareGuard, watchs in real time for any suspicious behaviour by malware while others watch for signatures.
Some are specialists, looking specifically for trojans, keyloggers, or rootkits.
So,hopefully you can see why more than one is just good insurance.

Dear netminderone,
First download and install SuperantiSpyware(free or pro-your choice) and Malwarebytes Antimalware ,again free or pro. If you know the difference between spyware and malware (no insult intended),click open one program after another and click on "scan".Don't forget upgrades daily!

Install spyware blaster and spyware Guard (both from the same website). Update on a regular basis. Spyware Guard seems to be UNIQUE in that (as far as i know), to be a stand-alone real time+ spyware scanner! Best wishes.

SpywareGuard is unique in that it hasn't been updated in a few years. Not a problem as it watches for suspicious actions rather than signatures.

Dear Sniper,
Will you ever miss your aim? Just once ,LOL! I click on SG in the fond hope that it will wake up one day to update!

"If you want to see the rifle it's fine.
If you want to stare at a rushing bullet, you'll be dead"(My quote for you)!

In fact SG Live Update automatically downloads itself with SG

Finally recalled where we had "talked" before. And where you got the Sniper name for me.
Almost a month ago, wasn't it? Both of us got growled at by a little Pekinese( I think thats the breed) and had to retreat.
I did, in a perverse way, enjoy our little discussion at that time.
