Unhappy No CD now what?

I have the Norton Security Suite pre loaded on my machine. I am trying to remove it but I do not have a disk, and it wont let me do it without the CD. It keeps telling me to put in the CD so it can find some file (*.mui, I think?) How can I safely uninstall this program from my computer without screwing my computer up completely??? I want it off but honestly have no clue where the CD went we have had the computer over a year. Thanks in advance for any help....

To remove Norton, Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel
double click on Add/Remove Programs, search for every item that belongs to Norton, Symantec, or LiveUpdate and remove them, reboot when prompt, or reboot manually if your computer hasn't automatically rebooted. To remove the leftovers download and run the Norton Removal Tool, read HERE

Hi cinci1,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.

Although using the Vista Programs feature in the Control Panel should remove most Norton components, I would advise you to also follow the procedure below using the Norton Removal Tool.

1. Click on the following link to download the Norton Removal Tool:

Norton Removal Tool and Instructions

2. After you run the tool, please restart your computer. Then log in to Windows again and run the removal tool again. Restart your computer after it is finished running the second time as well.

Thanks,
Mike
