Unhappy Power up password for Think pad
Hello, I hope there is an easy answer for me so here it is:
I have a business PC (ThinkPad T42 ) works and runs to perfection. My wife runs QB on it and did not like having to input the power up password I set, so I entered in BIOS and there was no “no password” setting or anything like that so I changed the password to what should have bin nothing. In the enter old PW field I did so and in the new PW field I put nothing and hit enter, then in repeat new PW I did nothing and hit enter. New password created prompted and I restarted. Now it still asks for a password but I don’t know what it is. I have been in IT since late 90s so I did all the normal stuff admin, ADMIN, administrator and so on. I just hit enter at the prompt with no luck. The password must default to something if no PW is selected. Any one have a clue? Please help.

The password sounds like it's a hard drive password, not a bios password. Common on laptops in the case of theft.
