Solved: 2WireHG-B Router want Network to work
So I have a 2WireHG-B router and I have one computer connected through ethernet all the others are wireless. The directly connected has the printer so I need all my wireless connections to be able to access it I also like transferring files through the network.

I have three options for my firewall security; I can disallow all, allow all, or allow some. I've been allowing all for when I need to print something from another computer, transfer files, or host games through Warcraft III. Then I disallow all access when I'm not doing any of those. Can anyone help me use the allow some option and make it so I can do all three of those while disallowing everything else to make it simpler so I don't have to be switching back and forth constantly.

Thanks.

whats the firewall program you have
you should be able to set up a range of IP address which are allowed through the firewall - these would be the IP address you have on the router enabled for DHCP typically 192.168.x.x
I have a range of address the DHCP can provide 192.168.0.1 which is the gateway through to 192.168.0.50 - I have also set this range of IP address in the firewall on each machine..

does that help at all?

I have Avast! for a A-V Program for the desktop and various other programs on the wireless computer like AVG, Avast!, and Windows Care.

I don't really understand so much. Is there somewhere I can allow those computer to connect to my desktop? All the other computers can access everything else but the desktop won't connect out and nothing can connect to it. There's an option on my router that allows one computer to change it's security so my desktop disallows all and I can open ports and such, will it be through that...?

hve a read of these articles may help
But it may just be the firewall on the destop blocking access
do you have a firewall installed at all , if so exit it and see if that solves the problem, if so
post back the name of the program you are using as a firewall and we can see how to set up to allow

im not using a firewall. well technically i am but it's part of the router. the 2WireHG-B. i set the firewall on there for the desktop to disallow all traffic, but there's a way to do exceptions here and i want to make every other computer on the network an exception.

*EDIT*

Thanks for all the help. I figured it out. Apparently when I set the firewall on the router to disallow all it edits my Network settings for this computer and turns all sharing off as well as network discovery. So I can disallow all traffic while keeping sharing/network discovery on.
