Solved: What may be happening
XP Pro. I cannot run the on line home Trendmicro free scan.
Every time it starts to run, this dialog screen appearsActive X is running and Java is updated to ver 11.)
Also tried another on line scan and after one hour just 7% and 361 files had been checked.

perfume, an unusual name and I like it. Thanks for your reply but I since decided use SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes more frequently and disregard the online scans for such varmints. These two with SpywareBlaster should protect me.

I like perfumes"pour Homme" and i recommend CK (Calvin Klein) !

The link i provided is a free service from Mcafee and it's a good way to check out at what speed you're Internet is running.

Speed test. I have cable so I have lots of speed---just doesn't always seem fast enough
