Exclamation Norton Internet Security
Hello,
I have a Dell Studio laptop and I am having some trouble with it. Here is the low down. Every once in a while when I get on my computer I notice on my desktop a shortcut to Norton Internet Security by Symantec. I do not understand this as I have not installed the program and it appears to have installed itself on my computer. When I find it, I go into my programs and uninstall it, but it never fails to eventually come back. Is this caused by something I am doing, does it have to do with the computer, a virus, or what? Please help! It's getting pretty annoying. Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Norton Internet Secruity comes preinstalled on many Branded computers such as Dell, HP etc, so its not that in installed itself.
Since it fails to get uninstall from add/remove programs run the link below and it will completly remove the norton product from your computer if the icon remains then simply right click on it with mouse and delete it
www.symantec.com/nrt
once ur issue is resolved pls reply and close this thread as solved, if not then pls give details about what happened with u ran the tool from above link
thanx

I agree. This fail to uninstall was actually quite common a few years ago. Run the removal tool from the symantec website and everything should be good. After that, I recommend staying away from symantec security software. It's not that great, it's expensive, and it's a resource hog.

IMite...

You might want to have a look at Norton 2009 products.
All new and uses little resources.
Symantec may have finally got it right.
