The old domain for SpywareInfo was lost by the previous owners and they weren't able to renew it so the domain has now been taken over by dubious owners pushing malware.

It's likely a link to that domain that you have in your bookmarks to download something like HijackThis. See if you can find anything linking to spywareinfo.com by mouse hovering over the links and if you find it right-click on it and then delete it.

The new domain for SpywareInfo is:

www.spywareinfoforum.com

i even deleted the bookmark backups that firefox creates but it still finds Spywareinfo.TrafficZ
arrrgggg....

the lil drop down for it in spybot says...
"hjtlogtutorial.php (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/hjtlogtutorial.php)
i can't find that bugger to delete it
i am trimming down and organizing my bookmarks though lol

Please see if there are any updates for Spybot and then scan again. If it still detects it, does the drop down say exactly the same thing?

Question Spywareinfo. TrafficZ
I have the same problem. Spybot finds it and does not remove it (Spybot is fully updated).

I have also run McAfee, AVG Anti-Spyware, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and none of them catch it.

I also have Spywareblaster, SpywareGuard, Ie-spyad and numerous cleaners which I have used like CCleaner, Cleanup and ATF-Cleaner with no solution. These were done prior to running anyspare programs.

This Spywareinfo.TrafficZ doesnot go away. In the description when expanded on Spybot it says:

Bookmark (Chrome:Chrome)
Merijin.org(http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijin/forums.php)
Kind : Bookmark

Any help is appreciated

Thank you

Do you have a bookmark to merijn.org through SpywareInfo? It looks like this one is in the Chrome browser.

Everyone I've seen posting at the Spybot forum didn't have it detected after they eliminated all of their bookmarks pointing to either spywareinfo or merijn so I really don't know what else to suggest other than do you have the Firefox bookmarks add-on? Maybe it's saving something.

i think i got it fixed
i stuck in a backup bookmark folder i made about a month ago
and started from scratch removing the offending bookmarks.
i ran a couple scans and they came up clean.

thanks for your interest

That's good. I figured there had to be something else there.
