how to secure CDs against copying
Is there anything new about making CDs copy proof. I have produced a language CD that i sell for a pittance with a plea that people do not copy it BUT I wonder how many I am losing. Is there any economical and/or easy way to prevent unauthorized copying?

sorry if this is in the wrong forum. It seemed to me to be a security issue but I realize it is not internet security. If I'm in the wrong place I'd appreciate being steered to the right place

thanks, Frank

You could try one of these methods.

Thanks, one of them (ccd-lock) looks interesting. But before I download it (BTW it seemed to be accompanied by a bad site which I blocked and then went on) I wonder if it is what I need because it seems to be made for audio cds. Mine is a data cd with a pdf with embedded sound on it. think it'll work?

No way to prevent the copying of a CD. That's why companies use various forms of activation.

I am afraid activation just keeps the honest crooks honest, too.

I think ccd-lock is freeware, just download it and give it a try. You might as well try to copy protect your stuff. If someone is going to copy at least make it more difficult.
