ad-aware anniversary free edition

using vista.
having trouble with new version ad-aware.
keep getting error msg "connection failed....check settings"
cannot up-date.
checked settings.......can't see anything wrong....changed some settings...no change.
uninstalled.............reinstalled..............no change.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check you firewall to see if it has rights.
