The message certainly makes it sound as if someone else is logging into your account from somewhere else. You should not only change your password, but also the security questions and answers that get the password reset. Looks like someone else might know those questions and answers and had no problem getting your new password. Of course, all this is assuming that the message actually means that someone else is logging in at the same time as you are using the service. Yahoo email has generally been buggy and I would not be surprised if this was just a symptom of bad software at the Yahoo end rather than a symptom of hacking.

Do you have a home network? Perhaps Yahoo has been opened on another computer.

Dear ELL,

Kindly open the Yahoo page https://login.yahoo.com/config/login_verify2?&.src=ym ,and on the top left you can see "are you protected"logo. That adds a second layer of protection. The advise i can offer is to save all your important e-mails and open a new account with a strong password(That's the key!),as Microsoft have advised today. They are offering a quarter million $ to anyone who can help track down the creator of the "conficker virus". Some hunt,Dear Karbo!Add a cool quarter mill to your kitty!!LOL

You might have been a victim of phishing. Some crooks out there actually offer to crack webmail passwords for a fee.

These crooks claim that they will send you proof of the password being cracked, with actual images of the victim's inbox. For a fee (maybe a few hundred bucks), they'll send the password to you.

If you receive an email message from Yahoo that looks legit but then asks you for a password to access another page, do not provide your password. Contact Yahoo instead to verify.

Dear ELL,
I should have said the top right of the page!

Dear Karbo,
I am dedicating my 350th post to you for all the kindness and patience you have shown towards me! I really wonder whether we should be back to the times when the postman used to deliver all the posts. The laid-back approach of the People in those days was not a waste of time, but a real celebration of life as it should be! Progress can sometimes be a curse than a blessing! Mine is a lone voice!

Thank you Karbo!

Dear ELL,
Iam pasting below an e-mail i received about the constrution of a password. I hope you'll find it useful.Best wishes!

Passwords Should Be...
Do you often have trouble coming up with the perfect password? Whether you're purchasing something online or you're signing up for some kind of newsletter, etc., a password is usually required. Plus, we all know (well, we should) that it's best to use a different password for each thing we do online. And with more and more services being added everyday, it can sometimes be hard to come up with new passwords to use. So, I thought I would take some time today and try to help you out. What do you say we create some passwords?!
According to security experts, there are six rules you should follow when making up your passwords. First of all, they should be random. By that, I mean you should choose a series of characters that are completely random to everyone else, but make complete sense to you. The second rule follows up with that by saying passwords should be unique. Again, just try to create a password that no one else will be able to easily guess. The third rule states that a password should be, at the very least, eight characters long, but the longer it is, the better. If you can come up with a password that's 14 characters or more, go for it!
The next rule says that a password should be a combination of upper and lowercase letters and there should be at least one number or symbol included in there somewhere. The more variety you add to your password, the better it will be. The fifth rule simply states that you should change your password regularly and frequently. The longer you leave the same password in place, the easier it will be for a hacker to grab it. And lastly, you should type your password out manually each and every time you're asked for it. Yes, the "Remember Password" feature is nice, but it's really best to enter it in each time. If you follow these six simple rules, you'll have the most secure and perfect passwords in town. Now, that's something to be proud of!

Thanks for the tips Perfume. I'm sure it will come in handy for a lot of us.

This tip is particularly important in my opinion: "And lastly, you should type your password out manually each and every time you're asked for it. Yes, the "Remember Password" feature is nice, but it's really best to enter it in each time". Very few people seem to understand this...

Dear Karbo,
I am sure that you will! Your depth of understanding of "Firewalls" is amazing! People are making fun of my ignorance of how to configure the comodo firewall! Help please!

Well, it seems Comodo is making some progress for people who like it simple, as the end of this thread says. We'll see...
