Avast
I have been using the free version of Avast antivirus for quite some time but am now getting a pop up message telling me that my subscription is soon to expire. Is the free version only available for a limited time. If this is the case which other free av programmes do you recommend.

Hi you need to register once a year for Avast.

After you have the new License key- it will be in an email, find the Key, highlight it and right click highlighted Key and select "Copy"

Look down in system tray, on lower right...."About Avast!" select that & double click

Look in the window, find "License Key", then hit CTRL+V on your keyboard to Paste the new License Key, then click OK and you should get a successful message

That's all there is to it! Mine is good till March 2010

I use Avast free(for home use) on 2 computers. You have to re-register every 14 months to continue using this excellent antivirus.
Check out the Avast FAQ link and you will find the info you need.

Avast rocks!
