Why would you go to a bittorrent site to download the free version of the program instead of going straight to the source and downloading it from AVG? Did you have some other anti-virus program running on the computer to check if your bittorrent download was clean?

In any case, we can't help with problems caused by P2P programs or downloads through them. Please read the rules here.

Uninstall the AVG and see what happens. If that doesnt help, try a system restore to a prervious date.

The Free version of AVG is available from their website, why did you have to use bittorrent ?

There is a FREE version of AVG. I have been using it for several years. At their site you have to hunt for it...but you can get it easily from one of the following sites:
www.majorgeeks.com
www.downloadcom.

Hi childrew,
Once you've got this issue sorted out - perhaps these sources of free & totally legal progs will be of interest?
