Unable to get Internet Access
Hi there,
I have been working on a Toshiba laptop which couldn't get out to the net. I've tried wireless, cable attached at work, and even via USB-stick downloaded Firefox to see if it was IE7 related. Anyone seen this before?

Hi Vicks,

Not sure of the model number, it's about a year old, a good model too with dual core/wireless etc. The laptop is at work....sorry..
No additional hardware, although recently purchased a Belkin wireless router....I'll get the required information on Monday.....sorry about that..

Hi,
It's windows XP.....no anti-virus onboard.
I'm looking at this for someone else, hence why the laptop is at work...

Via USB storage, I've put AVG Free on there......

Do you have broadband Internet access at home? If so, what type? And how is it setup? Do you have a modem connected to a wireless router? Did you try connecting directly to the modem?

The Laptop is a Toshiba Tecra PTS52A.
We have tried connecting to the net using wireless, wired router and even through our company's network, but nothing works.
It also wont even recognise the Router when wired, and you enter the IP address on the command line of Internet Explorer...

We have installed (via USB) firefox and that wont work either....

We have tried connecting with no AV on board, and with AVG-Free on-board..

hope this information helps.....Thanks for all your suggestions..
