Spybot-S&D Uninstallation and Installation
This question is probably more appropriate for Spybot's own forum, but I can't get on their site today.

I have Windows XP. I had Spybot-S&D 160 and want to upgrade to 162. I uninstalled 160 through Add/Remove Programs. After the uninstallation, it said not all components were removed, but it didn't say which ones. So I just tried to manually delete the Spybot folder, but I couldn't because some dll file cannot be deleted.

I tried to just install Spybot 162, but it says the dll is read-only and wants to know what to do. Heck if I know!

Anyone familiar with this? What should I do?

Thanks,
Beth

I would reinstall it first reboot and then try to uninstall it again, maybe from the Programs menu using their uninstall. Suggestion though? Spybot is really old technology and www.superantispyware.com is so much a better more timely product.

No need to delete any thing else because your be installing a newer version. I upgraded mine from the auto-update and that way you also keep your setting because it does not delete everything.
