First .. Can I ask ..
Do you have an external Hard Drive??
And how many gigs is occupied in your system partition (Used Space) ?? | | Senior Member with 517 posts. | | Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: Calcutta, INDIA Experience: Father of Einstein | | You can use Folder Lock. Some of its features are Folder Lock is a fast data encryption and password protection software for Windows. It can simultaneously encrypt, lock and password protect your files, folders, drives, USB drives and even CD/DVD-RW.
Folder Lock creates encrypted storages called 'Lockers'. You can keep as many of your private files and folders in your Locker and password protect it with a single click. You can transfer, secure and backup these Lockers. Lockers are even undeletable on the computer where Folder Lock is installed. You can treat Lockers just as you would treat them in physical world.
With Folder Lock, you can choose either to encrypt using 256-bit AES on-the-fly encryption or lock files, folders and drives anywhere on your computer.
Each Locker can contain your encrypted files as well as your personal list of locked items. Furthermore, Folder Lock's options like hack monitoring, stealth mode, data shredding, history cleaning & auto protection, portable USB autoplay feature and virtual keyboard can enhance data security beyond anything ever achieved. In addition, a locker's delete, move and rename are password protected to prevent data loss. Whether it's privacy, data theft, loss, leaks or intrusion attacks. Folder Lock secures your data in one fell swoop.
But it is NOT free

Your's is a very important question and i like the phrase you used"trying to protect my system from myself"! I am only a lad in late teens doing the same thing! Not mess up things. There are options which do isolate the C Drive, by creating a virtual environment in which you will be using the computer.
If anything un- towards happens( Virus attack, spyware causing damage etc), you simply reboot and the computer will be restored to it's original state! That's the state before the computer got affected! Iam providing below a link to a free software program which does exactly that, called Returnil: http://www.returnilvirtualsystem.com/rvspersonal.htm
Other options do exist like"sandboxie" where the web browser is sort of isolated (browsing made safe)and you can evaluate it too! http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewt...4777605fa8b4c2 | | Senior Member with 1,585 posts. | | Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: An Alien,a misfit on Earth Experience: Intermediate++ | | That way, the chances of infecting your C Drive and thereby your D Drive are near nil! | | Junior Member with 21 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Chihuahua Mexico Experience: Intermediate | | i am going to try this suggestion. im downloading now. i want to thank perfume for the response and input, i happen to be an old man who i still learnig, i hope i continue, once again thanks for the feedback, Muchas gracias, i also am retired and live in Chihuahua mexico | | Senior Member with 1,585 posts. | | Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: An Alien,a misfit on Earth Experience: Intermediate++ | | Dear Billmex,
