Comodo is blocking web app on a specific port
I have a web app at work that I need to access from home. The app is on a specific port and Comodo is blocking it.

I did some searching and added a new rule to Comodo based on what I read but it still isn't working.

Yes, welcome to Comodo world. I uninstalled Comodo and returned to XP's FW.

Have you read the user guide?
http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.c...User_Guide.pdf

You may need to uninstall C, turn on Windows' FW, install your program, then re-install C, if you are committed to using C.

Comodo is working properly on my system. The issue is that they have multiple levels of security and I haven't taken the time to figure it out. For now I am disabling the firewall when I want to use this web app. I am behind a router so that doesn't leave me completely unprotected.

Dear sync,
Now you have a Hardware Firewall and Comodo is causing probs! Though i have given up on Vista as a hopeless case, many users are confident about the abilities of the default Vista Firewall(software firewall). I completely agree with rainforest123 about getting rid of Comodo Firewall! Unless you spend quality time reading up the "Help section" and understanding the nuanses of configuring Comodo, better discard it!

Be sure your router is properly configured; change default logon user name. Change default logon password.

It is very easy to learn how to hack around a router firewall. There are websites devoted to such issues.

What is the best choice? A combination of personal firewall software and a hardware router with firewall features (wired or wireless). This is a quote from one of the best guides on Firewalls.Check it out!http://www.firewallguide.com/faq.htm

Yes.

I wonder if some of the previous posters think I should have gotten rid of my router instead of opening the ports.
