Dear swami22,
You seem to have recognized three probs.
1) Uninstalling the security suite. Download Revo uninstaller(it's free) and use it judiciously.
2)unable to open some sites. Kindly run a scan for spyware, Malware and Viruses. Let us know what A-V you have.
3)Unable to download. Check whether you are the administrator. A simple trick: If you need to quickly tell if the person currently logged onto a PC is a local administrator of the windows server, right click on the START button. If you see "Open All Users" rather than just "Open," the account is in the local Administrators group.
Best wishes.

Also, some malware deliberately block you from downloading security updates, so you may want (advisable) to run your spyware scans in safe mode.
If that doesn't help, contact the maleware section.

Personally, I think you should click on the "report" link of your post and ask the moderator to move your thread to the malware removal forum, to be certain that the malware is gone.

Be sure to read
