Solved: IE & Mozilla keeps on looping back to the same Page
Hello..
when I try to log in to my Yahoo account or any other password protected account, it keeps on sending me right back to the log in page even after i check to make sure i have the right passwords, etc. Also when I go into a webpage like for example my cell phone company and i want to check for an available product and i put in my zip code, it sends me right back to the same page. Loops me over and over.

One more thing.. Even here in Techguy when I go from this web page to for example Security & HJT or any other link I click on I have to sign in over and over again!

I have checked my Norton 360 settings and they seem to be fine. I do not know what to do here...

Can anyone please help??!

Thank you..

sincerely,

Edwin Q.

Which version of Windows?
RIGHT click "my computer" or "computer".
Left click properties.
XP home, pro, media ctr? Vista home premium, ultimate, etc?
Which service pack?

Which versions of IE& FF?
Open each browser.
Help > about

Start FF in safe mode.
start > programs / all programs > mozilla > FF [ safe mode ]

If you are running IE 7
start > programs / all programs > accessories > system tools > IE no add ons

Use ATF Cleaner to remove your temp files, etc.
www.atribune.org
NOTE: be sure you have your user names & passwords recorded. They will probably be erased after running ATF cleaner [ or other clean up utilities ].

Thanks for the information.

When did you install IE 8?

Are you aware that IE 8 is not a finished product; that IE 8 is still in testing, currently RC1?

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/int...aq.aspx#faq1_1

Yes, keep us posted.

Was the problem present before you installed IE 8?

1.
Have you run ATF Cleaner?

2.
Have your run IE 7 without add ons?

3.
Boot to safe mode with networking [ SM w N ], tapping F8 during boot process.

4.
In sm w n, try IE in normal IE mode & IE without add ons.

so I tried it just the way you said.. when I used it without aDDons nothing happened same as usual.. goes in a loop right back to the log in page. When I tried it normal in safe mode... The whole thing started to blink! as if it was clicking forward and backwards really fast.. the Address bar would go forward and back really fast.. and the bar at the bottom that shows the progress or the loading progress was going really slow....

Go http://thespykiller.co.uk/index.php?...pmod;dl=item10 and download 'Hijack This!' self installer. Save it to the desktop or other suitable place. DO NOT just press run from the website Double click on the file and it will install to C:\program files\hijackthis and create an entry in the start menu.
Click on the entry in start menu to run HijackThis
Click the "Scan" button, when the scan is finished the scan button will become "Save Log" click that and save the log.
Go to where you saved the log and click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" then Paste the log back here in a reply.
It will possibly show issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or even required,
so do NOT fix anything yet.

"Over 50% of malware doesn't show at all in a HJT log so asking "is my log clean?" is an impossible question to answer and all anyone can say is that there are no obvious signs of malware in a log but that doesn't mean you are not infected. We need to know what is wrong, such as: pop ups, diverts, strange messages or warnings etc."

Thank you.

Please run ATF cleaner, as I noted in #2 and asked about in #8.

Then run FF & IE, in normal mode, and post your results; tell us what happened.
