Peer Guardian 2 slowing internet speed
PLEASE DON't PUT THIS IN THE HIJACK THREAD. I'm still being helped by Cookiegal (I hope).
Anyways, I downloaded and installed Peer Guardian 2 after reading its reviews. It seems to be working amazingly but the bad part is that I somehow was infected while Cookiegal was helping me. When I look at what the internet is doing at the bottom of the web browser, it says "connecting to ad.doubleclick.net" (or something like that). I also realized that doubleclick was coming up on Peer Guardian 2 very frequently. Thus, it's blocking doubleclick, slowing down my internet. So if I were to clean my computer of the malware/spyware, will my internet speed be quicker?

I think ad doubleclick is an ad site which serves banner advertisement and cookies. Blocking it should not slow down your computer, as you will be downloading less junk.

Yes, if you eliminate spyware from your computer, it will run faster.

Your computer will be faster once your malware issue is solved. You should not install any new software while Cookiegal is helping you, as she won't know what you have done since you first asked for help. That makes her job more difficult.
