Will Process Explorer terminate stubborn services?

Yes it will. Process Explorer is a Task Manager on steroids...

Process Explorer was use back several years ago to Kill a malware Process and Services for removal. Because Task Manager or HJT (Killing a Running Process part) was not strong enough. Now with ComboFix and other malware tools. Process Explorer is not use as much.

Other suggestions that have worked for me with other programs. Go into CCleaner/Tools/Cookies and see if there is still an active Mc cookie. Is so, transfer it to the left column then run the cleaner.

If Mc has partly uninstalled - use Search then go into My Computer and find the files found and delete them individually.

What's the status?

You may need to contact McAfee for assistance with a manual uninstall, as Gamajobert suggests.

eh?
Thanks.

Thanks for the CC tip.

Search for what?
Not every file & folder associated with Mcafee has "Mcafee" in its name. Note very file beginning with "mc" is a McAfee file.

You can use the "Revo-uninstaller" software. It will surely help you.

I found a wonderful program called Windows Installer Clean Up (why it's not part of the standard Windows product I don't know). When you D/L it it lists all programs and lets you delete what you want (or better don't want). I've just used it to dump a bad Java installation. It doesn't actually delete the program - only the exe I think - but it worked.

Do install the program again and then un-install it. Hope it helps as I've experienced the same thing with SpySweeper.
