ESET NOD32 antivirus
Since sending my computer to the shop to b cleaned out because of bugs: I have been having lots of problems with my windows XP ever since this computer guy installed ESET NOD32 antivirus instead of what I wanted: AVG free antivirus. My internet explorer developed bugs, and my outlook express windows refused to work among other things like my computer not opening at all. I have had to bring my computer back to him 3 times now, because every time I bring it home it doesn't work.

Since then I have tried to re-install AVG free antivirus as the AVERAGE best antivirus on the moarket... but going to Downloads,com... I couldn't find it!

Apparently every single thing that was once free on the internet like VG antivius... has been taken off the internet? If there still is such a thing a AVG free antivirus... where is it, and where can I download it? And if anyone knows anything about this Node antivirus: please give me your assessment.

NODE comes with a spyware attachment called 'scan spyware'... Before, I used the free Ad-Aware and free Spybot programs and they worked fine...

I am VERY suspicious of these 2 antivrus and anti-spyware programs that this guy put into my computer: because it has been acting up like crazy ever since they were installed. The only trouble is... I can't find the FREE ad-aware program or the free spybot program anymore on the internet... What has been happening this last year? Has everybody in the world removed their free downloads from the interent or what?

If anyone knows of FREE reliable antivirus downl;aods and spware and anti-ad ware... please let me know: I don't like the ones this guy put into my computer and they are screwing up everything in my Windows XP... Somebody! Heeeelp!

NOD 32 is far better than AVG. But if u r facing problems with NOD 32 then it is better to switch to other anti-virus

U can download free AVG from here or here (download.com)

And use Malwarebytes anti-malware, super-antispyware (both free)

and remember, u should keep only one anti-virus.

whoops, wrong e-mail... Wrong response I mean: I have two threads on these forums and I answered the other in the wrong e-mail. All my settings have changed and I am trying to get used to the new ones.

So: If you say NOD is better than AVG.... then: either I willhave to live with the bugs, or get the free AVG..

So you say that ' Malwarebytes anti-malware, super-antispyware' is better than using adaware and spybot?

I have found that you need two walware programs because one doesn't always pick up everything.

I'll have to think about it. As long as the malware is kept inactive, though: I can use as many as I want to. I understand about only having one antivirus program because it is always running. But for weekly scans: I should be able to try all of them and compare them.

Many thanks for your expertise. My computer is runiing smoother now, I hope it will continue to do so.

I really owe so much to so many people over the years who have helped me with computer stuff because I am totally a non-computer personality. Saying thanks and disappearing seems to me to be a very shallow way of showing my gratitude. I wish I could go more in return: what do computer techs appreciate?

How 'bout an old joke:

'Why did the frenchman put dynamite in the kitchen?'

Don't know?

Because he wanted to see LINOLEUM BLOWNAPARTE!

Oh
I see computer people don't like emotion

too bad

gratitude is an emotion

if that bothers you, and is forbidden: I won't do it.
